Why should you make this recipe?

I love to create recipes that are yummy but healthy too. I got inspired to create these chocolates from the layered strawberry and chocolate oats. It tasted so good that I was craving more. I decided to modify the recipe and make tasty chocolate candy. It turned out great and I decide to share it with you.

Oats is a very nutrient dense whole grain. You get a lot of health benefits when you consume complex carbohydrates. They are high in fiber, protein, antioxidants, and vitamins.

Oats is usually gluten-free. If you are sensitive to gluten read the label and ingredient list. Make sure that the oats you purchased is not processed in a facility that also stores or packages grains that contain gluten.

In this recipe you can use whatever chocolate you like. This means that you can make these chocolates vegan and dairy-free if you want.

Helpful tips

I usually create a water bath to melt the chocolate. This means that I put a pot of simmering water underneath the bowl with the chocolate and I stir until it is melted. If the water in the water bath is boiling it might ruin the chocolate.

You can also melt the chocolate in the microwave. Put your chocolate in a microwave safe bowl and heat it for about a minute on high. Stop the microwave and stir it occasionally (every 15 seconds) so it doesn’t burn.

Make sure you removed the pit from your date before blending or you might break your appliance.
